“The greatest meeting of land and water in the world.” — Francis McComas
Long before hashtags and influencers, legendary naturalists lost their hearts to the Sierra Nevada, and authors found the soul of America in the fertile valleys near the coast. This slice of the Golden State is where the continent puts on its most dramatic show. It is a land where granite monoliths pierce the clouds, ancient trees dwarf skyscrapers, and the Pacific Ocean crashes relentlessly against jagged cliffs. It is the California you see on postcards, but infinitely better because you are actually breathing the salty air and smelling the pine needles.
Tours included in this bundle:
- Pacific Coast Highway
- 17 Mile Drive
- Big Sur
- Yosemite Valley Floor
- Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Park
- San Luis Obispo (Bonus)
Why go? Because this stretch of California gives you the state’s greatest hits in one sweep: the drama of Big Sur and the Pacific Coast Highway, the polished curves of 17 Mile Drive, the giants of Sequoia and Kings Canyon, the postcard views of Yosemite Valley, and the laid-back charm of San Luis Obispo. It is ocean and mountains, fog and sunshine, condors overhead and tide pools underfoot, all stitched together by some of the most scenic roads in the country.
With the Central California Self-Guided Driving and Walking Audio Tours Bundle, your phone becomes the road trip friend who actually knows what you are looking at. Location-based audio jumps in as you drive, weaving in stories of shipwrecks, conservationists, engineers, artists, and dreamers while you focus on the coastline, canyons, or waterfalls instead of on directions.
What you’ll experience:
- Stand in awe of El Capitan and Half Dome, the granite guardians of Yosemite Valley.
- Glide across the iconic Bixby Creek Bridge, a feat of engineering suspended over the canyon.
- Walk among the giants at General Sherman Tree, the largest known living single-stem tree on Earth.
- Spot the Lone Cypress, standing defiant against the ocean spray on the Monterey Peninsula.
- Leave your mark (literally) at the wonderfully weird Bubblegum Alley in San Luis Obispo.
Tiny Print, Big Feelings: We are not responsible if you develop a permanent crick in your neck from looking up at redwoods or if you suddenly start daydreaming about trading your desk for a lighthouse on the coast.
