About the Ring of Kerry Tour
As you drive Ireland’s legendary Ring of Kerry, it will bring you this unforgettable landscape to life with tales of castles, abbeys, waterfalls, ancient forts, seaside villages, and the people who shaped the Iveragh Peninsula.
This tour starts in Killarney and follows the route through some of County Kerry’s most iconic scenery.
Your journey kicks off near Ross Castle before continuing to Muckross Abbey, Muckross House, Torc Waterfall, and the lush beauty of Killarney National Park. From there, you’ll pass Upper Lake, Derrycunnihy Falls, Derrycunnihy Church, Ladies View, Looscaunagh Lough Viewpoint, and the dramatic mountain pass of Moll’s Gap.
After that, you’ll head toward Kenmare, with stops including Kenmare Stone Circle, Cromwell’s Bridge, Dunkerron Castle, Templenoe Church, Dromore Castle, Lough Fada, and Sneem. Along the way, you’ll hear stories of geology, wildlife, famine, independence, and Ireland’s turbulent past.
Next, the road leads toward Staigue Stone Fort, Castlecove Beach, O’Carroll’s Cove, Caherdaniel, Derrynane House, Scariff Island, Com an Chiste, and Loher Stone Fort. Then continue through Waterville, Ballinskelligs Bay, Tra na Sasanach, Ballinskelligs Abbey and Beach, Ballinskelligs Castle, Kinnard Cemetery, St. Finian’s Bay, The Glen, Ráth Ciaráin, Com an Easpaig, and the unforgettable Kerry Cliffs.
From there, you’ll pass Portmagee and Valentia Island, crossing by the Maurice O’Neill Memorial Bridge to visit Bray Head, St. Brendan’s Well, Fogher Cliffs, Geokaun Mountain, the Tetrapod Trackway, Valentia Island Lighthouse, Knightstown, and the Transatlantic Cable Station.
The route then continues through Cahersiveen, The Old Barracks, Ballycarbery Castle, Cahergal Stone Fort, Leacanabuaile Stone Fort, Whitestrand Beach, Beginish Island, Knocknadobar, Kells Bay Beach, Rossbeigh Beach, Glenbeigh, Killorglin, King Puck Statue, Ballymalis Castle, and the Gap of Dunloe.
