About the Tour
Your Miami City Tour begins at David T. Kennedy Park. As you drive, you will hear about Julia Tuttle, fondly known as the Mother of Miami. As you keep driving, you will come across the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens. Numerous leaders, celebrities, singers, and even the Pope, have visited the Vizcaya Museum & Gardens.Â
As you keep driving ahead, you will hear about Miami during World War II and the positive effect the returning servicemen and women had on the city.Â
From there, you’ll drive towards Brickell Avenue. One could say that it is Miami’s ultimate hotspot with its busy, fast-paced streets, gleaming office complexes, and a boom that shows no indications of slowing down.
Next up is Miami Circle – the only surviving example of a prehistoric structure built directly into bedrock. As you drive along, you will see & hear about the Bayfront Park and the Skyviews Miami Observation Wheel. As you turn right ahead onto Biscayne Boulevard, you will now be in the heart of downtown Miami.
Philips & Patricia Frost Museum of Science, where you’ll learn about its origins, is up next on your Miami tour. As you drive along, on your right is the Port of Miami, also known as the Cruise Capital of the World. The Venetian Islands are also visible; you will get to hear much about their creation and current status.Â
From here, we finally turn towards the iconic beaches and parks, including South Beach and Lummus Park. Driving toward Lincoln Road, you will also hear stories about the World Erotic Art Museum. On your tour, you will also see the world’s largest collection of Art Deco buildings.Â
You cannot miss the Miami Beach Botanical Garden – a 2.6-acre urban oasis with a variety of beautiful plants, flowers, and trees, many of which are native to Florida.
Finally, you’ll drive down to Collins Park, which houses the Bass Museum of Art. Your tour concludes here.
