Tour FAQs
Our Iceland Self-Guided Driving Tour Bundle gives you the freedom to explore at your own pace. You can complete some routes, like the Golden Circle, in a few hours, while others — like the South Coast or Ring Road — can stretch over multiple days. With no guide or schedule to follow, you decide how long to spend at each stop.
It depends on your interests:
- Summer (June-August): Longest daylight hours, best for hiking and general sightseeing. Northern Lights are not visible.
- Winter (September-March/mid-April): Best for Northern Lights viewing and ice cave tours. Shorter daylight hours limit sightseeing time.
- Shoulder Seasons (April-May & September-October): Can offer a balance of decent weather, fewer crowds, and potential for Northern Lights in the fall. Late April 2025 falls within the shoulder season, with increasing daylight and a chance for some Northern Lights early in the night.
The currency is the Icelandic Króna (ISK). Credit and debit cards are widely accepted, so you won’t need to carry large amounts of cash for food other expenses.
