While celebrities live all over Hollywood Hills, there are a few particular streets in Beverly Hills that are incredibly star-studded, including Alpine Drive, Bedford Drive, Benedict Canyon Drive, and, most famously of all, Mulholland Drive. Whether you’re taking a Beverly Hills self-guided driving tour or a regular bus tour, there’s a pretty good chance you’re going to end up on one of those roads.
Alpine Drive is often nicknamed “Billionaire Row” for a good reason. It’s north of the Sunset Strip, features large lots and no through traffic, and offers enough privacy to attract some of the biggest names in Hollywood. Some current and former occupants of Alpine Drive include Walter Matthau, Don Rickles, and Gene Hackman, who split his time between Hollywood and the Florida Keys. A few blocks away from Billionaire Row is Bedford Drive, one of the most famous throughways in the Beverly Hills Flats, just at the foot of the Hollywood Hills. Famous names who live (or lived) on Bedford Drive include Steve Martin, Clara Bow, Frank, Nancy Sinatra, and Stan Laurel (of Laurel and Hardy.)
If you move further up into the hills, you’ll find Benedict Canyon Drive, which runs through Beverly Hills into Bel Air and features names like Mickey Rourke, Ingrid Bergman, Eddie Murphy, and silent film legend Harold Lloyd. But by far, the most famous street in Beverly Hills, perhaps in all of LA, is Mulholland Drive. Besides being immortalized in film and music, Mulholland Drive has also been home to Hollywood royalty like Marlon Brando, Warren Beatty, Mary Tyler Moore, and Jack Nicholson.
Action Tour Guide’s very own painstakingly researched Hollywood Celebrity & Star Self-Guided Driving Tour will take you through some of the most famous streets in Beverly Hills, Bel Air, and beyond.
