Next, visit Jasper House, once a vital fur trading post along the Athabasca River. Learn about the trappers and traders who braved the wilderness centuries ago. Then, take in the dramatic scenery at Palisades View before heading into the town of Jasper.
Drive past Fitzhugh and Moberly Bridge before making your way to Lake Annette Road. This scenic detour offers a chance to see the pristine waters of Lake Annette, a hidden gem perfect for a quick stop. Then, cruise past the iconic Jasper Park Lodge, a historic retreat surrounded by breathtaking landscapes.
The adventure continues at Maligne Canyon, where deep limestone gorges and powerful waterfalls create one of the most striking natural wonders in Jasper. A short drive leads to Maligne Lookout, offering panoramic views of the canyon’s depths.
From here, follow the winding road to Medicine Lake, a geological marvel that mysteriously drains and refills throughout the year. Along the way, keep an eye out for wildlife, including bears, elk, and bighorn sheep.
