About the Tour
Your journey begins on Highway 1, just north of Crescent City. As you drive through this remote coastal town, don’t forget to stop at the one-of-a-kind Crescent Beach. Here, black sand and a foggy shoreline awaits, making for some stunningly dramatic scenery.
On your way to the ominously-named Damnation Creek, next, you’ll learn about this area’s unique ecosystem. Then, head to False Klamath Cove and False Klamath Rock for incredible photo opportunities. Take a break at the Lagoon Picnic Area or keep driving to get to the main attraction: The towering redwoods.
Explore the awe-inspiring Trees of Mystery, featuring the iconic Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox statues. Then, cruise beneath a canopy of soaring trees alongside the pristine Klamath River. Make sure to snap a photo at the Tour Thru Tree, which features a tunnel big enough for cars to pass through!
Take the detour to the peaceful Lady Bird Johnson Grove and learn about efforts to conserve this unique landscape, then continue on to Redwood Creek Overlook for a breathtaking vista.
Finally, you’ll reach the Humboldt Lagoons, a picturesque spot with some unusual history. Your tour concludes here.
