About the Tour
Your self-guided tour of Hidden Valley Nature Trail begins in the parking lot for the trail. This valley, famous for its rich history as a cattle rustler’s hideout, now serves as a peaceful haven for hikers and climbers alike. The app will guide you along the meandering trail as it circles the valley, offering insights into the valley’s past as a secluded rendezvous for 19th-century outlaws.
You’ll also get to know the local flora and fauna, and you’ll learn plenty about the area’s geology and how it all formed in the first place. Plus, you’ll hear about the Native people of the valley and hear a few chilling legends, like the story of the mysterious Yucca Man!
You’ll also have the opportunity to scramble on boulders, if that’s your thing, or try your hand at the harrowing Chasm of Doom, a narrow slot for adventurous climbers to squeeze through.
But don’t worry, aside from those optional excursions, this 1-mile loop is easy for all skill levels, and only takes about a half hour to hike. Your tour will conclude right near the parking lot where it began.
