As you journey through the valley, you’ll witness the majesty of Brandywine Falls, unearth the history of the Cuyahoga Valley Railroad, and take in panoramic views from plenty of valley vistas.
About the Tour
You can begin this tour at the north entrance of the park (near Cleveland) or the south entrance (near Akron).
From the north entrance, you’ll cruise to Tinkers Creek Gorge Scenic Overlook first, boasting breathtaking views of the deep gorge carved by centuries of flowing water. Then you’ll swing by Bridal Veil Falls for a scenic waterfall view and take a side trip to the even more impressive Great Falls of Tinkers Creek.
As you cruise alongside the Cuyahoga River, you’ll uncover the fascinating history of this region, from early life on the canal to long lost industries and more. Near the historic town of Brecksville, you’ll get great views of the Chippewa Creek Gorge. Plus, stop by the historic Station Road Bridge for a charming photo of the Cuyahoga River.
Jaite Mill Historic District, up next, tells the story of the park’s industrial past. After that, you’ll take a detour to the famous Brandywine Falls, one of the stars of this journey.
Then pay a visit to the historic Boston Mill, and maybe ride the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad! And you won’t want to miss Szalay’s Farm, a roadside farmer’s market that’s a staple attraction for a very good reason.
As you near the end of the tour, keep an eye out for wildlife on the boardwalk through Beaver Marsh and the aptly named Great Blue Heron Viewing Area. The southbound version of this tour concludes at the viewing area. The northbound version takes you past all the same incredible stops in reverse.
